The long-awaited, thrilling film Valkyrie tells the true story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg (Tom Cruise), who was at the forefront of a vast anti-Nazi conspiracy whose main goal was to eliminate Adolf Hitler and remove his most loyal collaborators from power. Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg is a loyal soldier, devotedly serving his country. After he is wounded and withdrawn from the front, the Allied troops land in Normandy and Stauffenberg becomes a member of a vast conspiracy. On the side of the German Resistance, armed with a cunning strategy to use Hitler's own emergency plan - known as Operation Valkyrie - action is set in motion to assassinate the Führer and overthrow his Nazi government. With a perfect plan and a few determined officers, von Stauffenberg, who has been one of many so far, becomes the one who must eliminate Hitler himself. Many high ranking figures were involved in the coup attempt, such as Ludwig Beck, Erich Höpner, Erwin Rommel, Hans Speidel and Hellmuth Stieff. Stauffenberg also wanted to eliminate Heinrich Himmler and Hermann Göring in the assassination along with Hitler. This reason forced him to retreat from the plan on two occasions (11 and 15 July).
