Who is behind a 20-year-old series of murders and rapes? All clues lead to a group of students at a prestigious boarding school, but a local eccentric was convicted as the perpetrator. The case file ends up on the desk of Detective Carl Mørck (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) in the special criminal division Q. Carl and his assistant Assad (Fares Fares) immediately realize that something is wrong with the case and reopen it. In the file, they find a note about an emergency call from a desperate young girl. However, she has disappeared without a trace. It soon becomes clear that Carl and Assad are not the only ones trying to find the girl, whose testimony could have unpleasant consequences for the highest echelons of Denmark's polished society.
