Richard (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a typical young backpacker: he travels the world and enjoys life. He has just arrived in Thailand, where he is looking for something new and unusual. At the hotel, he meets a young French couple: Etienne and Francoise, and Daffy, who is a drug addict. It is the latter who tells Richard about a place untouched by people, a paradise on earth. But the idyll doesn't last long...
