The Bronx of the 1960s is ruled by the steady hand of Sonny: a mobster who considers killing a man no worse than killing an intrusive insect. One day, he disposed of such an intrusive insect with a few bullets in broad daylight in the middle of the street. The only witness was a little boy, Calogero, who is literally fascinated by the world of the mobsters on the street corner. Calogero doesn't rat Sonny out, for which the mobster head is grateful and gradually fills the boy in on his dealings. However, his father, an honest bus driver, doesn't like this, and uninvited visitors begin to appear in the hitherto peaceful neighbourhood...
