The whole world knows Edward Snowden: he is a typical whistleblower, or someone who reveals secret and confidential information. As an employee of the US National Security Agency (NSA), Snowden brought out secret information and revealed to the world how the NSA was monitoring the lives of millions of people without any authorisation and without them being suspected in any way.
For some, Snowden is a hero, for others a traitor who threatens the security of the world. The film faithfully depicts his life, his motives for 'betraying' his country and the consequences.
