Alfred Dhumonttye is young and extremely unlucky architect whose building have the tendency to collapse. One day fed up by his failure he decides to kill himself by jumping in a canal in Paris. By a miraculous luck, Agathe Bodard a pretty TV anchor, deeply depressed has the same idea, same place same time. The unwillingly save each other from drowning before the police arrives to drag them on land. At first Agathe is furiously mad at Alfred for saving her, but as the movie goes on both character start to grow feeling for each other as they are brought together by their miss fortune.
