After a plane crash kills both his parents, 14-year-old Alex Rider (Alex Pettyfer) is raised by his uncle Ian (Ewan McGregor). He dies under mysterious circumstances and it turns out he has been leading a double life. On the one hand, he was an orderly bank clerk, and on the other, an MI6 spy who was brought down by an assassin.
